Program Overview
Driving the future of the Almond Industry, Growing Almond Leaders is a program for building leadership skills, exploring industry trends and innovation, and extending industry networks. Put together with a passion for relevant and experiential learning, including presentations from industry leaders and experts, this program is a unique combination of personal and professional development. Small cohorts support a personalised learning environment.
Who should apply?
This subsidised program is ideal for emerging leaders passionate about driving positive change in the Australian almond industry. Individuals with a desire to enhance their leadership skills, develop strategic thinking, and contribute to the future of the sector are encouraged to apply. Full consideration will be provided to all applicants regardless of age, gender, race or other distinguishing characteristics.
What’s involved?
The program consists of: 4 x 2-day residential workshops, 9 x 2 hours of online seminars, and up to 10 hours of mentoring support.
Immersive Learning: Participants will increase their understanding of the principles and theories underpinning effective leadership and develop their own leadership skills.
Industry Knowledge and Awareness: Participants will be provided exposure to industry insights and innovation through industry experts and field trips.
Practical Exercises: Participants will put theory into practice through exercises and activities, learning by doing.
Mentorship: Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced mentors who can provide valuable insights and guidance and accelerate participant growth.

Program Leaders
Jeanette Gellard from Innovative Influences is passionate about working with established and emerging leaders and innovative organisations. With over 30 years’ experience working with people in rural and regional Australia, Jeanette brings significant experience in governance, management, and leadership practices.
Susie Green from Susie Green Consulting has 30 years’ experience working in rural and horticultural communities, with a blend of business, communications, advocacy and technical experience. Susie’s strength lies in working with people and building collaborative approaches to achieve outcomes.
Ross Skinner has worked with most Murray Valley based horticultural industries since 1982. This includes managing industry bodies such as the Almond Board of Australia (2010-2021) and the Dried Fruits Research Council. Ross also managed the research and marketing funding programs for a range of industries.
