This event aims to support women in the almond industry in building industry networks and to provide an opportunity for a post-harvest debrief and discussion of their strategies for dealing with a challenging season.

This two half-day workshop is designed to provide almond growers with practical skills and knowledge to optimise irrigation management practices. The workshop will deliver a balance between theory and practical in-field demonstrations. By attending, participants will strengthen their understanding of how soil characteristics affect irrigation, how to use monitoring tools and how to troubleshoot common problems. The Department of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia (PIRSA) would like to invite South Australian industry growers and representatives to a workshop to share how pest birds affect their businesses. 

PIRSA has a project to develop a bait for pest birds impacting primary industries and communities of South Australia. This includes feral species, like pigeons, and abundant native species, like corellas, which cause significant impacts to almond and pistachio growers. 

Tea, coffee and a light snack will be provided. 

Please bring along any evidence of bird damage in your orchard, including photos and videos.
