ABA ‘Almond Skills’ Irrigation Workshops

After the success of last year’s workshops, the Almond Board of Australia, in conjunction with Agriculture Victoria and Netafim Australia, are once again hosting the ‘Almond Skills’ Irrigation Workshops. The workshops, each consisting of two half-days, will be held in the Riverland and Riverina growing regions. Jeremy Giddings from Agriculture Victoria and Peter Henry, Agronomist for Netafim Australia will headline the workshops along with other speakers and growers from each region. 

Who?

All almond growers, irrigation staff, managers and owner/operators are encouraged to attend for a practical, hands-on and interactive workshop that will be supported by theory, demonstrations and grower experiences.

What?

Come prepared to spend some of the mornings outdoors assessing soil pits and drip irrigation systems. Attendees are invited to bring along their irrigation designs and soil moisture monitoring data for a customised experience and to go through them with the presenters.

  2. Soil pits (in-field)
  3. System specifications
  4. System monitoring (in-field)
  5. System maintenance
  6. Scheduling

When?

All workshops will run from 8.30am to 1.00pm on both days with morning tea provided. Lunch will be on offer for attendees at the conclusion of the second day.

Riverland – Wednesday the 10th and Thursday the 11th  of July 2024.

Riverina –  Thursday the 18th and Friday the 19th of July 2024.

Where?

Riverland – Loxton Research Centre, Old Building (1801 Bookpurnong Road, Loxton)

Riverina – Griffith Leagues Club (2 Bridge Road, Griffith)

There are limited spaces available for each session and registrations will be offered on a “first in first served” basis.
