Riverland growers are invited to help shape the Australian almond industry’s strategic focus at the ABA’s regional meeting on November 25 from 11am until 2pm at the Almond Centre of Excellence.
Currently the top four national issues include carpophilus beetle damage, crop damage due to on farm storage, beehive availability and pricing, as well as Monterey leafing failure.
The aim of the regional meetings is to connect with growers and local stakeholders in an open, discussion-based setting.
These meetings provide a platform to share updates on almond production, plantings, market trends, chemical regulations and to highlight current research, development and extension activities funded through the R&D levy.
They also support collaboration and information exchange between ABA staff, growers, processors, researchers and service providers, while offering an opportunity to collect feedback and discuss industry issues relevant to each region.
Lunch will be provided.
