2025 Australian almond intake finalised

The Australian almond industry actual intake for the 2025 season has been calculated at 155,697 tonnes (kernel weight equivalent). This is slightly higher than the pre-harvest estimate of 155,531 tonnes issued in February, but almost 7500 tonnes below last year’s record intake of 163,148 tonnes and almost 10% down on the long-term crop forecast.

Almond industry releases new statistics

The ABA’s 2024/2025 Almond Insights handbook was released today following the compilation of the annual planting survey and marketing data. Demand for Australian almonds continues to grow in the opening two months of the new 2025-26 selling season. The latest Almond Board of Australia sales position report shows that domestic sales are up 9% on the same period last year and overall volumes are up 3% with domestic sales leading the way.

Australian Almonds Position Report: March 2025

A strong start to the 2025-26 Australian almond selling season has been highlighted by improved volumes into manufacturing hubs Turkiye and Spain and continued demand from key markets China and India. The dry harvest should result in a second successive year of high inshell production as the season unfolds.  Although the opening month was 17% down on last year’s all conquering season, it still was the second largest March on record for Australian almost exports.

Almond crop revised down
