We’re excited to announce that registrations are now officially open for the 2026 Australian Almond Conference.
Whether you’re looking to stay informed on emerging trends, gain practical knowledge, or strengthen industry connections, the Australian Almond Conference offers valuable opportunities for everyone involved in the industry.
For the first time the event will run over three days (13 – 15 October 2026).
Day 1 highlights:
- A dedicated half-day focusing on marketing:
- Industry and global panels to provide a temperature check on the global market;
- The ABA’s marketing team unveiling the exciting new initatives planned for the next two years;
- A cooking presentation from Australian Almonds Ambassador Poh Ling Yeow and world-renowned Indian chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
- A pest and disease workshop will take place in the trade exhibition hall.
- A graduation ceremony will be held to acknowledge the participants in the 2026 Growing Almond Leaders program.
- ABA Annual General Meeting.
- Welcome drinks.
Day 2/3 highlights:
- President of the International Nut Congress Ashok Krishen will set the global perspective on nut consumption as a keynote speaker, while experts on key issues like water, fertiliser and finance will provide the latest insights in a landscape of uncertainty.
- A Californian perspective by Almond Board of California CEO Clarice Turner.
- Comedian Peter Helliar will perform at the gala dinner. It’s also a night when the Australian almond industry recognises people who have made a significant contribution to the industry.
- Three highly regarded almond researchers from the USA are flying in to share their knowledge:
- Dr Greg Browne, USDA -ARS Plant Pathologist – is regarded as the leading expert in Phytophthora and Prunus Replant Disease.
- Dr Astrid Volder, University of California Davis – will discuss her recent work investigating root production dynamics, lifespan and coarse root architecture in almond orchards in response to irrigation, canopy and soil healht practices.
- Dr Maciej Zwieniecki, University of California Davis – has revolutionised how the Californian almond industry understands tree physiology and orchard management. His work focuses heavily on how non-structural carbohydrates (sugars and starches) affect almond yield, irrigation and survival. Hundreds of almond growers have sent wood and bark samples to the UC Davis Z Lab, where a team tracks carbohydrate levels, helping growers predict future harvest yields.
