The Australian almond exports exceeded 25,000 tonnes for the first three months of the industry selling season for only the second time in May.

The Almond Board of Australia’s monthly Position Report highlighted the ongoing demand in China where exports are up 13% on the same period as last year.

Challenging harvest conditions have slowed processors, so while volumes are down on last season it is expected that shipping activities will be extended over a longer period than the previous two seasons due to the delays.

The biennial Australian Almond Conference in Adelaide from October 13-15 will feature a stand-alone marketing day on day one, with international guest speakers flying in to participate in what promises to be a great opportunity to bring together a broad section of the supply chain.

The conference will provide buyers and procurement managers with a valuable opportunity to better understand market dynamics and the industry.
