For the second successive month, Australian almond export sales were significantly better than the same time last year.

The July Almond Board of Australia Position Report has confirmed that improved sales into India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Spain and the return of United Arab Emirates have all contributed to a strong month of overseas trade. The increased activity in these markets supports the ongoing strong support of the Chinese – who continue to buy the biggest share of the Australian crop – the Australian domestic market and Turkiye.

The delayed harvest due to wet conditions was expected to impact inshell volumes available for China and India in the opening months of the sales season, but after five months of the sales season processors have still managed to ship 31,755 tonnes compared to 34,410 in a dry season last year.

China’s 71% share of all inshell is well up on last year, while India has increased its kernel sales from 550 tonnes season to date in 2025 to 3,149 tonnes this season.
